AMD Terms and Conditions

We promise to provide you with high quality professional
driver training in line with your driving goals, aims and objectives.
Our Terms and Conditions of service are detailed below

INTRODUCTION:
The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which driving lessons and courses are offered to you by Alwyn Deacon representing AMD Driver Training.

CODE OF CONDUCT:
Your instructor will be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual. They will also always behave in a professional manner. Your instructor's car will be well maintained, clean and tidy. All cars we use are fitted with dual controls as part of their standard equipment. The cars are fully insured for driving tuition. Smoking policy-smoking is strictly prohibited.
Your instructor is licensed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) to give driving tuition. You will be kept informed of any changes in driving law and current best practice for driving tuition. Instructors are subject to periodic checks by the DSA to maintain quality

DRIVING LICENCE AND EYESIGHT REQUIREMENTS:
The learner must hold a current, valid driving licence (provisional or full), which must be produced on or in advance of their first lesson. The learner must also check that they can read a number plate at 20.5 metres (i.e., 67 feet - about 5 car lengths) with glasses or contact lenses if normally worn.

LESSON POSTPONEMENT:
To enable your instructor to rebook another pupil you will be required to give two clear working days’ notice of cancellation of a lesson, otherwise we regret that the lesson will be charged. However, every effort is made to re-sell a late cancelled lesson to another pupil of the school.

BLOCK BOOKINGS, INTENSIVE COURSES and PASS PLUS:
Please note block bookings of 10 lessons consisting of one hour lesson must be paid in full before lessons start, all block bookings must be used within a 6 months’ timescale, if you require a refund of lessons then each lesson you have received will be charged at the normal hourly rate of £35. A deposit will be required at the time of booking an intensive course, the total remaining must be paid before commencement of the course. Any fees paid in advance are not refundable if you decide to cancel within 1 week of the start of the training once the booking has been accepted by your instructor. At this point a binding agreement is made between yourself and your instructor. This does not in any way affect your statutory rights to be provided with the goods and services you have bought.
PICK-UP & DROP-OFF POINTS:
All lessons will start and finish at the same location unless other arrangements are made with your instructor. If you elect to finish at a different location, your instructor may need extra travelling time to get to the next appointment. If this is the case, it is the duty of the learner to inform your instructor in advance of the lesson start time.

TIME KEEPING:
In their own interest learners are advised to be punctual for their lesson appointments. All appointments are your student appointment card to ensure that mistakes are avoided. Your instructor will normally wait for a maximum of 15 minutes before the lesson would be abandoned and the lesson fee forfeited or become due for payment. A reciprocal waiting time may become necessary if your instructor is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Any lesson time lost as a result of this would be made up by your instructor either at the end of the normal lesson time if possible or at a later date. All efforts will be made to inform the pupil of a delayed start time to a lesson.

PAYMENTS:
Payment for lessons will be made in cash, Bank transfer or debit and credit card at the start of every lesson. If paying by bank transfer this should be made before the start of the lesson. Block bookings are to be paid at the start of the first lesson in order to benefit from the discount offered. A 50% deposit will be required at the time of booking for any intensive courses taken (unless booked within 2 weeks of the start date, when full payment will be due) with the balance due at the start of the course.

Test Booking

Driving tests can be booked by you. Test appointments must be agreed with your instructor prior to confirmation with the DSA; otherwise, your instructor cannot guarantee their availability for the test. Please note, if you are changing your test date using a cancellation app, be aware that your instructor might not be available at short notice and if you have brought your test forward and the instructor thinks you are not ready for that date, they can refuse to take you.

Use of the vehicle
Very rarely and in the interest of Road Safety, your instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of the school car for the driving test if, in the opinion of your instructor, you are not able to control the car safely.

SAFETY
In the interests of comfort and safety learners are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing which does not restrict movement. Learners must also take note of any medication they are taking that may affect their ability to drive safely and advise their instructor accordingly before taking any lesson booked. If your instructor believes you to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, then the lesson will be abandoned, and full payment will be due. This will be non-negotiable.
